SkyToons is an American animated television series created by former Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs writers Skylar Robinson and Ruby Petersen for Fox Family, before moving to GlobeBox in 2001 and UPN in 2003 as part of the UPN Toonz block until the series ended on March 24, 2006. It's the second animated series produced by SkyRuby Studios without the participation of Warner Bros. Animation after 1998's Who's Barry. Reruns later aired on Cartoon Network, Discovery Family, and Boomerang.

While the series parodies other Saturday morning cartoons, primarily aimed at Warner Bros. animated series. The majority of episodes were composed of three short mini-episodes, each starring a different set of characters, and bridging segments.
SkyToons received wide critical acclaim throughout its original runs. It gained over 25 awards during its original run, including 5 Daytime Emmy Awards, 7 Kids' Choice Awards, with Time calling it "the best and funniest animated phenomenon of the 21st century" and has been largely commercially successful; it has spawned a successful franchise and adaptations into other media, such as comics, toys, and video games.

From 2001 to 2006, Universal Studios Home Entertainment released several VHS tapes and DVD discs of the series, each containing four episodes of the series.
Universal later released the first two seasons on DVD in 2004 and 2005, but in April 2006, SkyRuby gave Shout! Factory the rights to release the series. Season 3 was released that November, followed by season 4 in 2007. That same month, Shout announced that Season 4 would be released "sometime in 2006", but Shout delayed the release to an unknown date before finally releasing Season 4 in December 2007 and Seasons 5 and 6 in November 2008 and June 2009. From there on, Shout made a plan to put out the final season in 2010. Season 7 saw a release in April 2010, completing the entire series.
Following the DVD and Blu-ray release of The Painter and the Fairy, Shout released a boxset containing all seasons of the show and a bonus disc. The set went out of print in October 2015 along with the season DVDs. On August 14, 2019, Warner Bros. announced that the complete series of SkyToons would be released for the first time on Blu-ray and a shelf-friendly DVD box set with the Blu-ray containing a new 1080p restoration and a remastered DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 audio remix on every episode of the show and was released on June 16, 2020, to commentate the 20th anniversary of the series.
As of May 2020, the show was made available on HBO Max from May 27, 2020 until May 23, 2023, where it was switched to the Max streaming service.

Trivia[]
- The series takes place in the same universe as Animaniacs and Cartoon Insanity, although Skylar Robinson and Ruby Petersen left Warner Bros. two years before the series aired.
- However, this actually led to the creation of the Warner Bros. Looneyverse after the studio's acquisition of SkyRuby Studios in 2018.
