Julian & Clara: The Quest for the Little Dragon is a 1997 American animated musical adventure fantasy comedy film produced by Fox Family Films and Film Roman and based on the Fox Kids animated television series Julian & Clara, which it's spin-off of the RandomToons franchise. It was mark the first theatrically-released film to feature the RandomToons characters since 1990's Jackie and Doggy's Mystery Duo. It was directed by Alexia Gardner and Jovan Fields (in their directorial debut) and written by Nova Young, Karey Kirkpatrick, Tab Murphy, Bob Tzudiker and Noni White. Young wrote and produced the film, but decided not to direct it, therefore, Gardner and Fields were selected to direct. The film stars the regular television cast of Billy West, Nika Futterman, Frank Welker, Jim Cummings, Tress MacNeille and Jodi Benson, with guest roles from Alicia Silverstone, Christina Ricci, Billy Crystal, Patrick Stewart and Cathy Moriarty.

In the film, Julian and Clara encounter upon a mysterious glowing egg, which it turned out to a baby fire breathing dragon who was stolen from its mother. With a help of a brave warrior and a friendly monster, it's up to Julian and Clara to get the baby dragon back to its mother while stopping a powerful witch who plans to captures it for her own wicked plans. Meanwhile, Clara discovers a terrifying secret about her past, and discovers a new enemy who has a powerful crystal that he plans to conquer the kingdom with it and has something to do with Clara's troubled past.

Julian & Clara: The Quest for the Little Dragon was initially set to be released as a direct-to-video film, but was instead theatrically in the United States on May 2, 1997 by 20th Century Fox, and it received positive reviews from critics who praised the film for its animation and music, although some compared it unfavorably to the animated musicals of the Disney Renaissance era. On its $60 million budget, it grossed $226 million, making it the highest-grossing film from 20th Century Fox Animation. It also served as the series finale of Julian & Clara, as no further episodes were made to continue from where it left off, in favor the production of RandomToons Zany Factory which premiered two months after the film's release. However, with its home media release, the film has since attained a cult following, particularly among those who grew up with the film

Julian & Clara: The Quest for the Little Dragon was originally slated for release on November 15, 1996, but by February 1996, it was later pushed back to May 2, 1997, to avoid competition with Warner Bros.' Space Jam, as well as Paramount Animation/Amblimation's Natalia's Story and Disney's 101 Dalmatians.

Julian & Clara: The Quest for the Little Dragon was released on VHS and LaserDisc on October 14, 1997. On February 27, 2001, the film was released on DVD for the first time. On September 26, 2006, a two-disc special edition DVD was released, featuring much of the bonus material from the 2001 DVD as well as newer features. Julian & Clara: The Quest for the Little Dragon was first made available on Blu-ray on July 24, 2012. Julian & Clara: The Quest for the Little Dragon was released for the first time on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on November 10, 2020, as part of RandomToons' 80th anniversary.

Julian & Clara: The Quest for the Little Dragon, along with the rest of RandomToons films, shorts, shows and specials, is now available on Disney+ on November 12, 2019.
