Imagination is a 1980 American animated fantasy comedy-drama film produced by Walt Disney Productions and released by Buena Vista Distribution. The film was directed by Lorena Valentina in her feature directorial debut. It was the first Disney animated film to be directed by a woman. The ensemble voice cast consists of Catherine O'Hara, Frank Welker, Pat Stevens, Keith Coogan, June Foray, and John Stephenson. The film follows Red Riding Hood as she stumbles upon a mysterious magical realm, known as the World of Imagination. With the help of fairy tale creatures and other fantastical beings, she trying to head back home while exploring the World of Imagination.

The film was released to theaters on June 13, 1980, by Buena Vista Distribution. It was a financial success, earning $40.9 million domestically and received mixed reviews from critics. At the time of its release, it was the most expensive animated film produced to date, costing $12 million. It was re-released to theaters on February 23, 1990. A sequel, Return to Imagination, was released directly-to-DVD on November 15, 2005.

The film was first released on VHS on June 6, 1995, under Disney's "Masterpiece Collection" video series. On May 2, 2000, it was released on Region 1 DVD for the first time as part of the Walt Disney Gold Classic Collection line, along with a simultaneous VHS re-issue as part of the same video line on the same day. Soon after, a 25th anniversary special edition DVD was released on October 11, 2005.

The film was released on Blu-ray on July 6, 2010, commemorating its 30th anniversary as part of a 3-disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo pack that was bundled as a 2-movie Collection Edition featuring Return to Imagination on the same Blu-ray Disc, as well as separate DVD versions of both films. Featuring a new digital restoration, the Blu-ray transfer presents the film for the first time in 1.66:1 widescreen and also features 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio. Return to Imagination is presented in 1.78:1 widescreen and features the same audio channel as the first film. A DVD-only edition of the 2-movie Collection, again featuring both films on separate discs, was also released on the same day.
