Edwin & Terry is a 1993 American animated musical comedy film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film was directed by George Scribner from a screenplay by Joe Ranft, Linda Woolverton and Irene Mecchi, and a story by Ranft. It follows the story of two homeless animals; a dog and cat, as they tried to make a deal with a leader of a criminal animal gang. But then, the duo meet and help a young 10-year-old girl who is being berated and exploited by a evil child-hating abusive guardian.
Edwin & Terry was released on July 30, 1993 in the United States and was met with both critical and financial success, grossing over $240 million during its initial run. It spawned a TV series of the same name that aired on CBS from 1994 to 1996 and a straight-to-video sequel, Edwin & Terry: The Long Rescue, in 2001.
